OUR STORY
Comaier Services Inc. was started in 1964 when our owner, John F. Maier, was 19. He borrowed $300 from his Aunt Mildred “Midge” Thompson, and $350 from a close friend, Freddy Lucas, to purchase a 1953 Pontiac ambulance. Later that same year, John began a funeral escort service in which we still operate to this day. A couple years passed and Comaier Services Inc. continued to grow. In 1966, we expanded and started offering a limousine service. In 1968, John incorporated Comaier Services, Inc. In 1970, we started our Security division. In 1974, we built our first office building and garage at 111 E. Columbia Street, which is now our administrative and security offices. In 1979, we started our wheelchair service.
Just 10 years after building our first office, Comaier Services Inc. grew even larger. In 1984, we built our current operations building at 701 N. Elsas Ave. In 1995, after 31 years of serving the Evansville Tri-State community and being first responders to such events as the 1990 Petersburg, IN tornado and the 1992 C-130 plane crash, we made an extremely hard decision and sold our ambulance service.
Comaier Services Inc. has been serving our community for 60 years. We are a family-owned and operated business with 3 generations serving and all still serving. We strive to go above and beyond for our clients, offering wheelchair transportation, chauffeur services, security patrol services, oversized load escorts, and more. We are devoted to having the best customer service in our industry. On several occasions we have been part of the largest and most historical events behind the scenes throughout the Tri-State. We love Evansville!!!! We’re excited to continue to serve Evansville, McCutchanville, Chandler, and Newburg, IN for many years to come, so contact us today.
